DeFelt unique technology
Our responsibility for ensuring the proper production of PET felt at our Asian factory is a key element of our company. Every stage of production, from the selection of raw materials to the technological processes and quality control, is carried out with the utmost care.
Felt Processing
The process of producing PET felt panels begins with the careful selection and purification of waste material. It is then combed into PET fibers. In the next process, the fibers are compacted to form a uniform layer, then is pitched into a multilayer fiber mat. The key step is needlepunching, which is the mechanical bonding of the fibers with special needles, providing the felt with high strength, uniformity and rigidity. After needlepunching, the fiber mat is subjected to heat stabilization to fix its structure. The next step is calendering, which smooths the surface of the felt and gives it the desired density. Then the felt is impregnated to give it additional properties like fireproofing, and dirt and moisture resistance. Thanks to advanced technology, we are able to offer felt of different densities from 1000g/m² to 4000g/m². Quality control is automated and covers every stage of production. Our diligence and high manufacturing standards guarantee the highest quality products.
